Every Summer the Community Music Center of Houston organizes a summer youth music camp for children and teens in our community by providing a fun and educational space for students to build their musical and social skills in a supportive and relaxed atmosphere.

This camp is open to all string students and anyone interested in singing or being introduced to the piano.

  • Strings - Beginning Level - learn to read music with rhythmic exercises and be introduced to music history.

  • Strings - Intermediate Level - improve reading and counting skills and learn more music history.

  • Strings - Advanced Level - play challenging music (solos, chamber music, etc.) with advanced music history.

  • Piano - Students are introduced to the piano.

  • Voice – Will focus on Pop, Blues, R&B and Gospel genres.

  • Activities include field trips and concert performances.
